#and FACES in that last gif #so much of their respective dynamics with their father is crystallised in those expressions #his vindictive little smile #because tyrion never is the disappointing child #to disappoint one has to have expectations to live up to #and tywin has none for his youngest son #all his expectations he heaps onto his eldest children #who he dreamt would be a knight and a queen #and so beautiful none would ever laugh at them #and if jaime and cersei are set up within the courtly paradigm to perform the roles of unattainable ideals #it’s only because their father sets them up in his eyes like that first #gilded darlings trapped under the weight of their father’s dreams and expectations #simultaneously furious with him whilst always craving his approval #and this little scene between tyrion and cersei just sums up the conundrum of their situation #that to be prized by tywin is just as bad as to be ignored by him #because there are no priviliged lannister siblings #they are all created of their father’s personality #flawlessly constructed fucked-up sibling dynamics #and endless pain!
